¿Queréis mejorar vuestro vocabulario de inglés? Esta semana vamos a repasar el vocabulario específico de un lugar que seguro que visitáis al menos una vez a la semana: el supermercado. En este artículo encontraréis el nombre en inglés de 20 productos típicos que os podéis encontrar en el supermercado.
Para aprender este vocabulario es aconsejable que memoricéis cinco palabras al día para que las vayáis asimilando y no se os olviden nunca más. ¡Empezamos!
What do we need from the supermarket? – Vocabulary practice.
- ¿Cómo se dice en ingés artículos del hogar? Household goods y los podemos definir como products we use to clean the house. The part of the supermarket where we can find these products.
- Los producen las gallinas… y los definiríamos en inglés como: from hens. Often sold in packs of six or twelve. Oval and very fragile. ¿Qué es? Eggs. (huevos)
- ¡Patatas fritas! Frozen Chips. ¿Sabéis como pedirlas en inglés? ¡Si! Rectangular pieces of potatoes. Stored at very cold temperatures and ready to cook.
- Si se venden en rollos y son de papel… lo habitual es que estemos hablando de papel higiénico que en inglés se dice toilet paper y los definimos como the rolls of papers we find in the bathroom or toilet.
- ¿Sabéis para qué sirve un “Dutspan”? Para recoger y su definición en inglés es la siguiente. Dustpan: Used to collect dust and small pieces of dirt from the floor.
- Ahora imaginad que tenemos que meter todos estos productos en una bolsa. ¿Cómo se dice en inglés bolsa de la compra? Shopping basket is the small object with handles that we can put our shopping in.
Sigamos con nuestra lista de productos en inglés que podemos encontrar en el supermercado… ¿Jugamos a las adivinanzas para aprender vocabulario en inglés?
- Root vegetable. Round, brown or purple/red. Often they make people cry when they are cutting them. ¿Qué es? Onions. (Cebollas)
- A dairy product. Milk which has been treated to make it thick. Often eaten with desserts our used in sauces. ¿Qué es? Cream. (Crema)
- The creatures that come from the sea. The section of a supermarket that sells fish. ¿Qué es? Fish. (Pescado)
- Non-alcoholic brown drink. With bubbles. ¿Qué es? Coke. (Coca)
- Transparent liquid. Essential for all life forms. Sold in bottles. Water. (Agua)
- The large wheeled object we use to place our shopping in. There is often a seat for small children at the front. Shopping trolley. (Carrito de la compra)
- Small, round red fruit with a stone in the middle. Cherries. (Cerezas)
- Liquid extracted from oranges. Orange juice. (Zumo de naranja)
- A round fruit which can be yellow or orange inside. Usually with a hard outer skin. A melon. (Melón)
- The section or area where we can find a selection of fresh produce. Fruit and vegetables. (Frutas y vegetales)
- A dairy product. Similar to margarine but natural, not synthetic. Butter. (Mantequilla)
- Dairy product. Frozen, sweet, often with vanilla, chocolate or strawberry flavors. Ice-cream. (Helado)
- A long stick with an absorbent material at one end. Used to clean floors with water. A mop (Fregona)
- Long root vegetable. Pale white with a darker green top. Leeks. (Puerros)
